Advent eLearning Adds Course Billing Flexibility in Winter 2019 Update

At Advent, our mission is to make it easy for agencies to focus on their primary goal at hand: creating better futures for their clients and communities. We are continuously seeking to expand and improve our programs to better help our clients reach these goals.

We’re proud to announce an exciting Winter 2019 update to the Advent eLearning platform! Our Winter 2019 update brings a host of benefits designed to help you get the most out of our current offerings. This update will be coming soon.

What’s New?

eLearning clients can choose to operate under either an “offender-paid” or “agency-paid” model. The offender-paid model is used when offenders assigned to an eLearning course are required to pay for the cost of the course. The agency-paid model allows the cost of the student’s course to be invoiced to the agency.

This update now allows eLearning clients to choose course-billing options on a case-by-case basis, so an offender-paid client can now also choose to be invoiced for the courses of individual students. This will allow a new flexibility for treatment options. If a student is determined to be experiencing indigency or hardship, the student is a juvenile, or in cases where grants or other monies have been made available for treatment scenarios, the agency can now elect to absorb these course costs.

More New Features

In addition to the new flexible billing option, the Winter 2019 update will include these additional new features:

  • Expanded payment confirmations, including optional email notifications to caseworkers when self-enroll students successfully complete registration. Payment receipts will also be emailed to students immediately upon card-payment authorizations.

  • Expanded exam review options for cognitive-based courses, allowing both students and case workers the ability to review how the student answered each question on the course’s final exam.

  • Automatic failure of traffic program applications when the driver possesses a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), eliminating the need for agencies to manually screen out these applications.

  • Enhanced management and reporting of appointments and case notes in the Restorative Justice probation monitoring suite.
